Saudi Custom reduce
import duty base rate to 5%
The Government of Saudi Arabia announced an reduction in custom duty imports from 12% to
5%. This 7% reduction was made in an attempt to revitalize the economy and to bring Saudi
Arabia into priority with it’s GCC neighbours and port news. The local Saudi
Merchants and Importers were optimistic that this move will have the desired effect and
encourage trade development.

Major investment by Saudi investors in this scheme has seen the Zone commence operation and
offer series to the Saudi Market place. Interest has been great from both Saudi and
International. Trading houses who see tremendous potential for this venture in the
Kingdom, on the Red Sea & Gulf Region and beyond.
