Lloyds crest .. 100
years of continuous representation of Lloyds interests in Saudi Arabia
The Lloyds Agency title was granted more than 100 years ago to AETs
predecessors, Gellatley Hankey, and AET was proud to have the opportunity to continue to
represent Lloyds of London in this prestigious and important role. A Lloyds Agent is
expected to be of high commercial integrity and be resident in the port or country
concerned requirements which AET amply fulfills.
AET duties as Lloyds Agents increased considerably during Saudi
Arabias dramatic industrial expansion and, as a consequence, a separate internal
company was setup to manage the Lloyds Agency function. The Arabian Inspection and
Survey Company Ltd. (AIS) now collect news of daily shipping movements in Saudi Arabian waters as well
as reporting shipping and aviation casualties and non-marine disasters to Lloyds in
London. AIS acts on behalf of the Institute of London Underwriters, the American Institute
of Marine Underwriters, CESAM, France, Verein Hamburg and Bremerhaven as well as major
Marine Insurance associations. Representing international Classification Societes and
offering a comprehensive range of cargo surveying and loss adjusting services, AIS is a
very active company staffed by qualified, professional people. |
